Gluten Free Bread (GFCF) – Udi’s White Sandwich Bread

Udi’s White Sandwich Bread

Finally a new GFCF bread is on the market that’s light, fluffy and tastes very good.  I was stocking up on our standard kinnikinnick white bread when the someone mentioned Udi’s to me.  They asked if I had tried it yet because it was really good.  I gave a little laugh knowing that GFCF breads  don’t taste good.  They are either hard, chewy or taste stale.  Infact, the only way to get other GFCF bread to taste halfway descent is to toast it.  Even then, it’s not that tasty.  I decided to buy a loaf ($5.99) and taste test it on my son.

I told my 6 year old that I bought a loaf of new bread that we should try.  I was surprised in handling the slice because it’s texture was similar to your standard breads.  I spread a little bit of Earth Balance (butter like) on the slice and we shared it.  I could not beleive the flavor.  I found it’s texture and taste is similar to french bread.  My son loved it too.  He turned to me a few minutes after sampling and said “Dad, I could eat that bread a thousand times.”  I agreed and assured him his sandwiches were going to be much better from now on.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.
